MOBILE, Ala. – University of South Alabama head women's tennis coach Jaco Keyser announced on Monday that Hannah Lairmore has enrolled in school for the spring semester and will join the program.
Lairmore will have four years of eligibility remaining after sitting out the spring season that just began.
"We are excited to have Hannah join our team, she is one of the most highly-decorated players — having been one of the top American juniors throughout her career — we've added to the program in a while," said Keyser. "She is an extremely good athlete and has a lot of raw talent, if she can stay focused and put in the hard work Hannah can be a good player for South Alabama."
A Mobile resident, Lairmore attended the Boca Prep International School while playing tournaments on a national level dating back to 2010. In 2016 she advanced to the semifinals of the Girls 18-and-under division at the Sanlando Park USTA National Selection Tournament before winning a pair of matches at the end of the year in the Girls 16-and-under bracket at the USTA National Championships.
The previous season, she reached the finals of USTA National Selection Tournaments in Delray Beach, Fla., and Montgomery, Ala., in the Girls 18-and-under division before ending the campaign by playing in the semifinals of the Girls 16-and-under division at the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships. Lairmore also reached the semifinals in the Girls 16-and-under brackets at the Easter Bowl Tournament in Indian Wells, Calif., and the National Clay Court Championships.
She won the USTA National Selection Tournament Girls 16-and-under division in Delray Beach during the 2014 season, also reaching the quarterfinals of the Girls 16-and-under divisions at the Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships — where she fell to Bianca Andreescu, the reigning US Open champion — and the Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships.
Lairmore also won the Girls 14-and-under division event at the USTA National Selection Tournament in Arlington, Texas, while reaching the semifinals of the division at both the USTA National Championships and USTA National Winter Championships in 2013, and the previous year she won USTA Regional 14-and-under Tournaments in Pelham, Ala., and Kalamazoo, Mich.
