Opening Tip
• The Jaguars look for back-to-back wins for the first time since defeating Mobile and Tennessee State on Nov. 26 and 30.
• South's current five-game winning streak against the Panthers is the longest by either team in the series.
• The Jags have won each of the last four match-ups between the two schools in Atlanta.
• GSU's last win in the series was a 55-45 decision in Mobile on Jan. 26, 2017, while the Panthers most recent victory at home came on Feb. 19, 2015, when they earned a 69-54 decision.
• The Jaguars have won nine of the 13 contests between the two programs since GSU joined the Sun Belt Conference for the 2013-14 season.
Scoring Surge Continues
G Shaforia Kines has led the Jags in scoring in three of their first four games in 2020 after posting a team-best 17 points in the ULM victory on Saturday as she has reached double figures in each of the team's last eight outings against Sun Belt competition dating back to the second round of the league tournament last March.  It was the 10th occasion this year the senior has paced South in points — that's more than twice as many times as any other player on the roster — and she also leads the squad with 13 contests with 10-plus points.  Kines shared team-high honors with two steals against the Warhawks as well, the sixth time this season she has finished with multiple thefts.
Lewis Good Last Week
Antoinette Lewis averaged a team-best 19 points and nine rebounds per game in last week's two contests while shooting 55.2 percent from the field, falling one rebound shy in each game of recording back-to-back double-doubles.  In Saturday's win over ULM, the junior center scored 15 points — eight of those came in the final period as the Jags rallied from a deficit at the end of the third quarter — and she also shared team-high honors with nine rebounds.  Not only was it Lewis' 10 outing this year with 10 or more points, she pulled down the 700th rebound of her career while leading the team in the category for the 45th time since the start of the beginning of the 2017-18 campaign.
Telemaque Give Jags Three With Ten-Plus
Sophomore Damaya Telemaque gave USA three individuals in double figures scoring after recording a season-high 16 points in the win over the Warhawks, which included matching Lewis with eight in the final 10 minutes to spark the Jaguar rally. Â It was the second time in South's first four conference games she has posted 10-plus points, with the Jags winning each of the last three times she has accomplished the feat dating back to a Dec. 17 victory over William Carey; all six of Telemaque's double-digit scoring outings thus far this season have come at the Mitchell Center. Â The guard also added season-best totals with six rebounds and two blocked shots last time out, and after she was the only Jaguar with multiple assists in the ULM game she has now led the squad in the category each of the last three contests.
Complete Effort From Centers
Kennedi Centers scored eight points as well in the ULM victory, and in addition she shared team-high rebounding honors with Lewis after pulling down a season-high nine while also pacing all players with four blocked shots; the latter total matched a career best first set in a March 14 win over Troy at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament last winter.  It was the first time this year the senior center has led the team on the boards as well as the second occasion — the first came in a Dec. 7 win at Tulane — she has topped the team in blocks.
Additional Notes From The ULM Game
• Savannah Jones shared team-high honors after matching the best total of her career with two steals, and she was credited with multiple blocks for the first time since USA faced East Tennessee State on Dec. 20 as well.
• The win was the third this season in which USA has rallied when trailing both at the half and the end of three quarters, and its first since doing so at Tulane on Dec. 7.
• South also finished with a double-digit block total for the second time this year.
• The Jags have now outrebounded the opposition in each of their last three outings.
• The Jaguars both made and attempted more foul shots than their opponent for the first time since a Dec. 17 defeat of William Carey.
