THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Richard Moodie
Overall thoughts: "It was a fantastic effort from the ladies. I think the soccer we played on the first two goals were exactly what we worked on in practice – the two ways we thought we could break them down – and it paid off. We're ecstatic with the way we came out and played today, especially after a tough game earlier this week."
On the offensive effort being more economical: "We're creating good moments and being a bit more patient in the box. I don't think we did a good job at it – maybe not as good as we could do – but the moments we took were phenomenal. The penalty save from Justice can't go left unsaid. That changed the game for us. The goal from Moa was the icing on the cake."
On the defensive effort: "It was a great effort – fantastic. They got away from us once and we gave away a penalty, so we'll need to look at that and see what our shape looked like, but that's why you have a goalkeeper like Justice Stanford, who I'll continue to argue is the best goalkeeper in the Sun Belt. That save was phenomenal. Defensively, the girls from front to back have been great, but the back four in the last few weeks have played exceptionally well. They keep showing up and working hard for each other. Hopefully we can continue not giving up any goals."
