QUOTES
Head Coach Alexis Meeks-Rydell
- On the win:
"It was a really good win. I thought we were in control the entire match, and that was one of the things we were trying to focus on. I feel like when we're in control, we're going to have a pretty good chance of winning. They (Troy) applied pressure early on in sets, and I'm just proud of our kids for – especially toward the end of the set – continuing to apply pressure. Our blocking was phenomenal tonight, and our first contact was phenomenal as well. Paige (Lynn) and Hannah Harris did a great job of passing on serve receive tonight, and I thought we did super well from the service line, especially at the end of the sets. I couldn't be more proud of them."
- On the weekend:
"Obviously Coastal Carolina and App State are both really good programs. Coastal played really well this weekend; even though they lost both (matches), they still played phenomenal. They have some tough players, especially with Anette Nemeth – the kid is unbelievable. We keep talking about, the best part of where we're sitting at right now is that we're in control of our own destiny, and that's where you want to be. You don't want to be sitting at home hoping other people lose or win to try and get you to where you want to be; you want to have control over what happens. I'm super proud of them tonight, but they know what that means on Friday as well."
