JAG VOLLEYBALL TO HOST TROY TUESDAY



MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama volleyball team will host Troy in a Sun Belt Conference East Division match at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jag Gym.

The match will be streamed live and available for free through JagNationTV.com, and live stats will be provided and available through the multimedia section of USAJaguars.com. 

USA (17-7, 8-2 Sun Belt) is perfect at home this season, and carries a 13-match home win streak into the contest. The Jags have won seven of their last eight matches dating back to an Oct. 5 win at Georgia Southern. South Alabama defeated Georgia Southern in five sets last Friday at Jag Gym before sweeping Georgia State last Saturday.

Troy (18-4, 8-2 Sun Belt) carries a three-match win streak into Tuesday's contest after sweeping both Georgia State and Georgia Southern last weekend in Troy, Ala. South Alabama, Troy and Coastal Carolina enter the week tied for the Sun Belt Conference East Division lead at 8-2 in conference play. The Trojans are 3-3 in road matches this season.

USA ranks second in the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.239), fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.179) and fifth in kills per set (12.73) and service aces per set (1.44). In conference matches, the Jags rank third in hitting percentage (.235) and digs per set (15.74), tied for fourth in kills per set (13.31) and service aces per set (1.36), and fifth in opponent hitting percentage (.190). 

Kelley Hartman leads the Sun Belt in hitting percentage (.392), and ranks eighth in kills per set (3.14). Rachael DeMarcus ranks fifth in the league in assists per set (9.62), Ashlyn Roberts ranks sixth in digs per set (4.21) and Hannah Harris ranks eighth in service aces per set (0.35).

In conference matches, Hartman ranks fourth in hitting percentage (.368), and seventh in kills per set (3.28). Harris ranks tied for fourth in service aces per set (0.41) in league matches, DeMarcus ranks sixth in assists per set (9.54) and Roberts ranks seventh in digs per set (4.18). 

Troy leads the Sun Belt in kills per set (13.97), assists per set (13.01) and opponent hitting percentage (.162), and ranks third in service aces per set (1.61). In conference matches, the Trojans lead the league in kills per set (14.06) and assists per set (13.28), rank second in opponent hitting percentage (.171) and digs per set (15.78), and third in service aces per set (1.50). 

Troy's Cheyenne Hayes ranks second in the Sun Belt in kills per set (4.26), while Amara Anderson leads the league in assists per set (11.53). Lacey Jeffcoat ranks fourth in the conference in service aces per set (0.43). In conference contests, Anderson leads the league in assists per set (11.69), Jeffcoat ranks second in digs per set (4.56) and Hayes ranks third in kills per set (3.92).

South Alabama holds a 45-28 all-time lead over Troy in a series that dates back to 1974. The Jaguars have won two straight in the series after defeating Troy in both meetings last season, and have won the last four regular-season matchups.
