NEW ORLEANS – Following an unbeaten start to her singles campaign, University of South Alabama senior
Alexandria Stiteler was voted the Sun Belt Conference Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Wednesday.
It is Stiteler's 10th career athlete of the week honor from the conference, the most in school history.
The Bradenton, Fla., native went 2-0 at No. 1 singles in the opening weekend, defeating Keren Muswere of Grambling State 6-0, 6-1 on Saturday, then Giovanna Fioretti of McNeese State 7-5, 1-6, 7-5 on Sunday.
Stiteler split a pair of doubles matches with sophomore Nikola Kohoutova, winning 6-1 against Grambling State before dropping a match vs. McNeese State.
The Jaguars host Xavier (La.) Saturday at noon.
