WOMEN'S TENNIS SWEEPS TWINBILL WITH GRAMBLING

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team picked up a pair of wins against Grambling State to start the spring season Saturday at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

USA opened with a 7-0 victory against the Tigers and finished with another 7-0 sweep.

Match 1
-The Jaguars opened by taking the doubles point.
-Yu Fujioka and Yurie Takanishi swept Danna Galeano and Idah Longwe 6-0 on court 2.
-Leslie Soto and Diana Monsalve secured the doubles point by defeating Keren Happuch Muswere and Tanyaradzwa Magunje 6-0 at No. 3.
-Milka Pasanen and Patricia Martins finished doubles with a 6-2 victory over Bryttish Burts and Imperia Martinez.
-In singles, Nikola Kohoutova opened with a 6-0, 6-1 victory against Galeano on court 4, and Martins took a 6-0, 6-1 win over Magunje at No. 6.
-Alexandria Stiteler dropped Muswere 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, and Monsalve bested Martinez 6-1, 6-4 on court 5.
-Soto downed Longwe 6-4, 6-2 on court 2, and Takanishi finished singles with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-1) win against Burts.

Match 2
-The Jags jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the afternoon by sweeping doubles
-At No. 1, Stiteler and Kohoutova dropped Burts and Mora 6-1.
-Pasanen and Takanishi took a 6-2 victory against Longwe and Galeano on court 2.
-Soto and Monsalve finished off doubles with a 7-5 win over Muswere and Magunje at No. 3.
-In singles, Pasanen opened play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory against Muswere on court 4, and Soto clinched a 6-2, 6-0 win against Burts at No. 2.
-Martins bested Mora 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 followed by Fujioka dropping Muswere 6-3, 6-0 on court 1.
-In other singles action, Mosalve defeated Magunje 6-1, 6-1 and Takanishi finished play with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Longwere.
