THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Richard Moodie
Overall thoughts: "It was a tough game and I'm more disappointed than anything. We conceded two poor goals, but at 2-1 we're back in it and we hit the crossbar; that's the defining moment of the game. Overall, we were outworked and outplayed. We're really proud of some of the efforts of some of the girls that never stopped. I'm disappointed for sure. We don't feel like that was a 5-1 game, but Alabama is one of the best teams we've played this year."
On getting something positive out of the game: "We were in the game for the most part. We got back at 2-1 and the game changed a little bit. Mascia got on the scoresheet and we got another stellar performance from McPartlan. We're starting to see good things from players. The biggest positive you can take out of it is we hung in there for the best part of 50-60 minutes, then the tides turned."
On Mascia's goal: "With Morgan and Brianna, we went with two girls up top that were going to work their socks off, and the goal was a product of that. They're young and they lack experience, but we were running at their back four two or three times with them. With a little bit of time, they're going to do a great job. Brianna deserves it. She's worked so hard over the last few weeks. She's been, if not the, one of the hardest-working players every time she steps on the field. We hope it's the first of many; that won't be the last time we mention her name."
