THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The University of South Alabama women's tennis team swept Valdosta State and secured a singles win against West Florida on the final day of the Thomasville Collegiate Invitational Sunday at the Glen Arven Country Club.
The Jaguars played two singles and one double match against each school.
DOUBLES
-West Florida's Berta Bonardi and Karolina Silwanowicz dropped junior Leslie Soto (Santiago, Chile) and sophomore Nikola Kohoutova (Kralupy Nad Vltavou, Ceach Republic) 6-1, 6-2.
-Senior Milka Pasanen (Pieksamaki, Finland) and Patricia Martins (Lisbon, Portugal) beat a team from Valdosta State 6-3, 6-3.
SINGLES
-Pasanen downed Valeria Mantilla of West Florida 6-3, 6-0.
-UWF's Diana Vlad bested Martins 6-0, 6-4.
-Kohoutova and Soto won 6-2, 6-2, and 6-2, 6-3, respectively, against opponents from Valdosta State
