THEY SAID IT
Head coach Ben Hannan
On the team's performance in the second round: "The team showed a lot of determination, they showed up today very focused and competed well to post the low round of the tournament. I was very pleased with the effort and the focus as a group."
On the play of Peter Staalbo and Yannick Schütz: "Peter got off to a good start, he played very solid all day and made a lot of putts to keep the round going. Yannick had a great ball-striking day, he really gave himself a ton of opportunities in a bogey-free round. They both closed well to help us."
On building on the momentum from the final round with a two-week break: "When we return we will get to work, we played at Shoal Creek last year so we have the ability to put together a game plan and start to prepare as a group for what we might be seeing in the next couple of weeks. We will take the lesson from yesterday to today and continue to build on that and the process, which makes all the difference in the world for us."
Up next: South will next be in action when play begins on Monday, Sept. 24 at Alabama-Birmingham's Shoal Creek Invitational.
