JAG VOLLEYBALL ADDS THREE FOR 2019-20

MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama volleyball program added three student-athletes for the 2019-20 academic year, as announced Wednesday by head coach Amy Hendrichovsky.

Hannah Maddux – 6-2 – Outside Hitter – Boerne-Samuel U. Champion HS – Boerne, Texas
Earned two letters for the Chargers … Helped lead the team to a runner-up finish at the state tournament as a senior … Recorded 724 kills in 2018 while posting 366 kills as a junior in '17 … Named 5A All-Area as a junior by the San Antonio Express-News … Also named district most valuable player as well as District Newcomer of the Year … Helped lead the Chargers to a third-round playoff appearance in 2017 … Played eight years of club volleyball with the San Antonio Force.

- Hendrichovsky on Maddux:  "Hannah is a fighter and carries a confident presence on the court. Those around her enjoy playing with her. She embraces the responsibility of being a go-to for her team and hasn't even reached her full potential yet. Hannah is a very intelligent young lady; we are very excited to add Hannah to our program as a student, athlete, and teammate!"

- On what Maddux adds to the program:  "Hannah will bring size and a strong skillset to our pin position. She is 6'2", jumps and moves well for her size. We look for her to compete to be on the court early in her career."

Lillie Fromdahl – 5-7 – Setter – McGill-Toolen Catholic HS – Mobile, Ala.
Lettered three years for the Yellow Jackets … Helped lead McGill-Toolen to 2017 and 2018 Class 7A state titles … Named to the 2018 all-tournament team …  Also helped the Yellow Jackets capture the 2016 regional and area championship, while earning a spot in the state semifinal round … Ranked No. 2 on the AL.com 2018 A-List of volleyball seniors in the state … Named to 2017 AL.com Super All-State Team and All-Coastal Team after posting 1,020 assists and 191 digs as a junior … Competed in the 2018 North-South Volleyball game at the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association All-Star Sports Week as a member of the South squad … Earned American Volleyball Coaches Association Under Armour Girls High School All-America honorable mention as a senior … Played eight years of club volleyball with Mobile Storm and Lower Alabama Volleyball.

- Hendrichovsky on Fromdahl: "Lillie is the glue that helps keep her team together. She is a player who is capable of taking her team to the next level. She helped lead McGill-Toolen to back-to-back state titles and helped her team get recognized nationally this past season."

- On what Fromdahl adds to the program:  "Lillie is an experienced setter with great hands and a quick release. She has some of the best hands I've seen, and will easily adjust to our offensive tempo. Her ability to set her attackers based on their preferences separates her from average setters."

- On the importance of signing local talent:  "When I first learned of Lillie as an eighth grader, the Mobile volleyball community continued to stress how good Lillie Fromdahl was going to be. One of my goals when I started at South Alabama was to have the top Mobile talent want to stay in Mobile. Having Lillie grow up wanting to be a Jaguar is exactly what I wanted. The coaches in our area are working to continue to improve the talent in our region, and it shows in the caliber of the athletes up and coming in this area."

Paige Lynn – 5-3 – Libero – St. Francis Borgia Regional HS – Labadie, Mo.
Lettered four years for the Knights … Helped the team capture four straight district titles … Owns school record for career digs with over 2,000 total … Earned Class 3A all-state honors in both her sophomore and junior seasons … Also earned all-conference and all-district honors each season … Played seven years of club volleyball for Rockwood Thunder VBC in St. Louis, Mo.

- Hendrichovsky on Lynn:  "Paige is a fiesty, competitive, and confident libero. She plays fearless defense, and when you watch her team play it is apparent she is running the floor. Paige will add a strong presence on our team."

- On what Lynn adds to the program:  "Paige will immediately add speed, athleticism and IQ to our back court. In her four years, I see Paige being a consistent contributor in our first contact."
