THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Richard Moodie
Overall thoughts: "That's the worst possible way you could lose a game. I don't think the girls could've given any more than they did; we're all proud of them. It's a game that maybe should have been won in regulation; there are a lot of decisions that we'll have to go back and watch and form our own opinion. The girls were fantastic. I really feel for Hannah (Godfrey); she had a great four years. I think we did everything right and could've played it a little bit more but we didn't deserve to lose like that."
On the season overall: "The way that we lost tonight pretty much sums up the way that it's looked. We'll bounce back and we'll get into training and have a good spring. We'll get done what we need to get done. What really sticks out is sometimes you have those seasons where everything goes right for you, the ball breaks and the girls are scoring goals, but unfortunately, you have seasons where it doesn't break your way. You miss chances that normally the players would take like they do every day in practice. It's one of those things that's hard to explain in sports but it is that way sometimes. We're going to look at what's happened this season and look at the good and the bad. For us to have as many freshmen on the field that we did, the fight that we had today, I'm just so proud of them. We have a lot of freshmen, some that haven't been on the field in two years, lost some players, and not once did we make any excuses."
On Morris' performance in the tournament: "It's the Briana we've been waiting for all year. That young lady has been hard done by in a lot of situations tonight. She worked so hard to get herself in good positions tonight. She never stops working, she had some quality moments on the ball, she scored goals and set up others; she's just a fantastic all-around student-athlete. She's stellar in the classroom and a great individual. I'm happy to see the success she's been having this week. She'll be back with a vengeance. She didn't score the number of goals that she wanted, but what she's done for this team this year has been phenomenal. If she's not the best player in this tournament this week, she's certainly our best player."
