OPENING TIP
- The Jaguars defeated Georgia Southern on Sunday, 79-52, to move to 2-0 in Sun Belt Conference play.
- This marks the first time since the 2013-14 season South Alabama has started 2-0 in SBC action
- USA shot 60.6 percent from the field in the first-half against Georgia Southern, the best shooting percentage of any half this season.
- South Alabama grabbed 50 rebounds against the Eagles, the second time this season they have grabbed 50 or more rebounds in a game.
- The Jags' seven non-conference wins are the most since the 2012-13 season when they won seven.
- USA's 9-4 record is the best start to a season for the program since the 2008-09 squad started 11-2.
- South Alabama received a vote in the USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll during week 9 of the poll, marking the first time since the 2008-09 season the Jags have received a vote in the poll.
- Perrymond recorded a career-high 9 assists in the contest, while Chyna Ellis collected six blocks, the most by a Jag this season, when they faced Central Arkansas.
- South Alabama leads the SBC in five statistical categories, assists (224), assists per game (17.2), blocks (88), blocks per game (6.8) and defensive rebounds (29.5).
- USA shot a season-best 51.1 percent from the field and 52.9 percent from beyond the arc in the contest against UCA.
- The Jags capped off November with an .833 winning percentage, their best winning percentage in November since the 2008-09 season.
- The Jags have had four-double digit scorers twice this season, at Southern Miss and at home against Georgia State.
- South Alabama has had at least two players score 10 or more point per game in every contest except for one.
- USA has had seven 20 or more point scoring efforts this season. Ellis has had four including a career-high 24 points against Southern Mississippi.

- Ellis needs 17 more points to reach 1,000 for her career.
- Ellis has 265 blocks for her career and is second all-time in Sun Belt Conference history. She needs 15 blocks to become the all-time leader in SBC history.
- South Alabama is 2-2 in games decided by single digits.
- The Jags have won seven of their nine games by double digits, including six by 20 or more points.
- South Alabama has been outrebounded four times this season and won its first contest in this situation against Central Arkansas.
- The Jags have only trailed at halftime four-times this season, at North Carolina State (Nov. 19), at home against Jacksonville (Dec. 3), at Ole Miss (12/9), and at home against UAB (Dec. 21), and are 0-4 when trailing at halftime.

- Texas State is 8-5 this season, including 1-1 in SBC play.
- The Bobcats are coming off a tough road loss at Coastal Carolina.
- Texas State has three players averaging double-digit points this season, Toshua Leavitt (17.4), Taeler Deer (14.8), and Brooke Holle (12.0).
- Deer leads her team and the SBC with 77 assists.
- In addition to being Texas State's leading scorer, Leavitt also leads SBC in three-point shooting percentage (42.1 percent) and three's made per game (4.31).
- The Bobcats average 71 points per contest and give up just under 58 points per game.
- Texas State began their season with a victory over in-state rival and BIG 12 foe Texas Tech.

Head Coach Terry Fowler
On Texas State: "They play hard and are well coached. The like to and can score from beyond the perimeter. They're players in the post are undersized, but they are athletic and they crash the glass. I told our players they play hard and get on the floor for the ball."
 
On what he needs from the team to start 3-0 in the SBC: "We need to continue to stay together, believe in on another and play with confidence. On the road, you need your defense to show up because you don't know what you'll get form the offense.
