"I thought we played well," said USA head coach
Jaco Keyser. "We played them a couple of weeks ago and they're a good, talented team. We came out and played some good doubles, and we kind of pulled away in the end."
Senior
Laura Valkova (Piestany, Slovakia) began singles with a 6-0, 6-3 win against
Arianne de Winter at No. 2, and Matuskova put the Jags up 3-0 by defeating Ranzahuer 6-2, 6-1 on court No. 5. Mitta clinched the victory for USA with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Bujan at No. 3.
"When we have the discipline to go back to practices, we're usually a pretty good team," Keyser said. "We've been on a nice little streak, winning 12 in a row. Our confidence is high and I can't feel better about it."
The Jaguars move on to face Georgia State Saturday at 10 a.m.
