THEY SAID IT
Head Coach Terry Fowler
On the matchup against Jacksonville: "I have a lot of respect for Jacksonville and their program. They are well-coached, play extremely hard and they're athletic. They try to push the tempo and get their best players in one-on-one situations. Our biggest concern is their rebounding. They rebound the basketball well and we can't give them second-chance opportunities."
On the team's best start during his tenure: "You win with motivated players. We have five seniors on our roster and they're motivated. They have shown a focus in their preparation and being ready on gameday. They really want to have a great season."
On the improvement at the charity stripe against USM: "We knew we're capable. We probably have had more free-throws rattle in-and-out than any other team in the country. For us it was just a matter of concentration. I think we understood the level of Southern Miss and what that game meant and we had a higher-level of concentration.
