LARAMIE, Wyo. – The University of South Alabama volleyball team picked up its first win of the season and earned a split Friday at the UniWyo Cowgirl Classic.  USA (1-4) fell to tournament host Wyoming 3-0 in the first match of the day, but bounced back to take its second match of the day, defeating Montana 3-2 at the UniWyo Sports Complex.

"We've been talking about controlling the outside of the net and for the most part in our match tonight against Montana, we learned to control our side of the net," South Alabama head coach Amy Hendrichovsky said.  "We have been struggling with errors and tonight I applaud my team because they did what we asked them to do. Wyoming is a really good team and executing at a high level right now, but we did some good things against them. We knew coming into tonight's match against Montana that we just needed to hold onto the momentum that we took in the first match."

USA will face close out play versus Ball State on Saturday at 11 a.m. (CT).  Live stats for the match will be available at www.USAJaguars.com.
