MOBILE, Ala. – The University of South Alabama women’s basketball team will begin its annual “Talking Jags” program next week when Lady Jag head coach Rick Pietri and selected players visit four local schools.
South Alabama will open with a visit to Robbins Elementary on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
USA players will speak on a variety of topics, such as respect to parents and teachers, good study and eating habits, sportsmanship and saying no to drugs. The Lady Jags also give the students a glimpse into a day in the life of a Division I collegiate basketball player at South Alabama.
The Lady Jags’ first of two visits to St. Mary Catholic is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday where they will speak to 2-5 grade classes. South Alabama is also scheduled to speak three other times – at Christ the King at 2 p.m. on Oct. 24, St. Mary Catholic (Grades 6-8) at 1:15 p.m. on Oct. 25 and St. Luke's Episcopal School at 2 p.m. on Oct. 26.
