MOBILE, Ala. - The University of South Alabama Athletic Ticket Office announced Tuesday that the 2010 "Red Zone Challenge," a season-ticket referral program, is underway and will run through the end of August.

Three grand prizes will be available to all individuals who enter, highlighted by an all-expense paid trip for two to the Jaguars' game at UC Davis on Oct. 23 this fall.  Other grand prizes include two tickets to the Athletic Director's suite for a 2010 home game as well as a replica football helmet signed by head coach Joey Jones.

The grand prize drawing will take place at halftime of the Jags' season-opening contest against Pikeville (Ky.), which will be played on Saturday, Sept. 4.  Finalists for the grand prize will be notified by Tuesday, Aug. 27.

Last year's grand prize winner of the inaugural "Red Zone Challenge" was Byron Pittman of Chickasaw, Ala., who had 26 referral tickets.

The "Red Zone Challenge" is a season-ticket referral program, with each ticket sold receiving one "yard."  Individuals who accumulate "yards" will receive the following prizes by meeting the minimums listed in parentheses: an official USA Football T-shirt (four yards, although only two are necessary through June 30), a football autographed by Jones (eight yards, four through the end of June), a USA football polo shirt (10 yards), access for two to a USA Athletics VIP Tent at Ladd-Peebles Stadium (16 yards), and two sideline passes for a 2010 home game (20 yards).

Prizes will be distributed shortly after the start of the season.

Referrals can be made by calling (251) 461-1USA (1872) or by visiting the school's official athletic web site, www.usajaguars.com.  An on-line form can be filled out by highlighting the link to tickets at the top of the page and then clicking on the link for the "Red Zone Challenge."  Only full season ticket purchases are eligible to earn "yards," including those sold at regular price as well as recent alumni, faculty/staff and family plan rates.  Individuals do not have to be a USA Football season-ticket holder to participate in the program.
