Mideast Regional Results - Day Two
LOUISVILLE, Ky. ? University of South Alabama track and field high jumper Nicole Knox tied for 13th place in the high jump at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Mideast Regional Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Park Track and Field Stadium.
Knox finished with a final jump of 1.70m/5-07.00. The senior from Montgomery, Ala., became the first Lady Jag to compete in three consecutive regionals in the same event.
Freshman thrower Joey Torres finished 28th in the men’s discus with a throw of 45.13m/148-01.
“It wasn’t a real good meet for us; we didn’t perform real well,” USA head coach Paul Brueske said. “With the exception of Nicole [Knox] none of the athletes had experience on a regional level. Most of these guys are young, and it’s good they got this level of experience this early in their careers.”
