Track and Field's Knox Meets Qualifying Mark on Day One of LSU Relays

BATON ROUGE ? South Alabama high jumper Nicole Knox met a regional-qualifying mark for the second consecutive week Friday afternoon at the LSU Relays.

Knox placed second in the event with a jump of 1.75m/5-08.75, which matched her season-best jump set last weekend. The senior from Montgomery, Ala., finished just 1.25 inches behind LSU’s Brittani Carter.

“We had some positives today, but we’re looking forward to having some good things happen tomorrow,” USA head coach Paul Brueske said.

USA returns to action Saturday morning for the final day of competition at the LSU Relays. The women’s discus is scheduled as the first collegiate event, which begins at 11 a.m.
