MOBILE, Ala.? The University of South Alabama men's tennis team beat Southeastern Louisiana 5-2 at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts Thursday, snapping a three-match losing streak.

"We went into this match looking for a big start," head coach Nick Brochu said, "which we got when we took the doubles point."

The No. 72 Jags (2-4) took the lead quickly with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to secure the doubles point. The South Alabama tandem of Sergio Ramirez and Hanno Bartsch defeated the Lions duo of Jan Bezdecka and Stepan Siska, 8-2, at the No. 1 position. USA's Aaron Krisan and Marek Sramek rolled over SLU's Benjamin Enke and Alexis Biarneix, 8-4.

South Alabama secured the win with singles wins at each of the first four positions. Ramirez, Sramek and Romain Bocaert each collected straight-set victories to clinch the match, with Krisan extending the lead to 5-0 when he defeated Bezdecka 10-6 in a tiebreaker at No. 4.

Southeastern Louisiana (3-2) picked up its only points of the match in singles play by claiming the fifth and sixth positions.

The Jaguars will be back in action Friday when they host Stetson at 2.
