USA BASKETBALL "FAN DAY" SET FOR SATURDAY

MOBILE, Ala. ? University of South Alabama basketball fans will get their first chance to meet the 2008-09 men’s and women’s teams Saturday when both participate in “Fan Day” at the Mitchell Center.

Head coaches Ronnie Arrow and Rick Pietri will address the crowd during the event, which begins at noon, while coaches and players from both squads will be available for autographs throughout.  Every fan through the doors of the Mitchell Center will receive a free poster for the teams to sign.

Admission to USA basketball “Fan Day” is free, with parking available outside the arena.

The event will also give new season ticket holders an opportunity to select their seats for the upcoming season.  The Jaguars ? who are coming off a school record-setting 26-7 season which ended with an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament ? will play host to 15 contests in ’08-09 highlighted by match-ups with Arkansas, NCAA Sweet 16 participant Western Kentucky and Sun Belt rival Middle Tennessee, and they will also host the USA Basketball Classic Thanksgiving weekend.  The Lady Jags will have 15 home games in the winter as well, including meeting defending Sun Belt champion WKU and WNIT participants UALR, Middle Tennessee and Southern Mississippi.

Season tickets starting as low as $50 are currently available for the 2008-09 basketball campaign.
