MOBILE, Ala. ? Former University of South Alabama track and field athlete Cicely Kyle was crowned Dual-Fitness Champion on her way to placing fifth overall at the Women’s Tri-Fitness World Challenge held July 10-13 in Las Vegas.
In addition to winning the Dual-Fitness portion, Kyle, who competed in the long jump and triple jump while at USA from 2004-2007, also took second in the obstacle course, placed fourth with her fitness routine, and earned fourth in the fitness skills portion of the four-day event.
During her senior season at USA, Kyle set a personal best with an 11.18m leap, earning sixth place in the triple jump at the 2007 Jaguar Premier Invitational. Kyle also placed 14th at the 2007 Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championship.
Kyle’s best SBC Championship finish came at the outdoor event in 2004, when her triple jump of 10.87m came in 10th place. A native of Pensacola, Fla., Kyle was named to the Commissioner’s List in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005.
