MOBILE, Ala. ? The South Alabama women’s tennis team continued rolling along Saturday afternoon with an impressive 6-1 victory over fellow Sun Belt Conference member Middle Tennessee at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.
USA (11-0) will continue its current six-match homestand when the Jaguar women host Indiana State on Thursday at 11 a.m. The Blue Raiders fell to 3-9 in dual match play with the loss.
South Alabama took an early 1-0 match lead when the Jags were able to pick up doubles victories at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots. Middle Tennessee captured an 8-1 win at No. 1 to sit one win away from taking the point, but USA’s doubles duos of Adrianna Solarova/Sylvanie Spangenberrg (8-6) and Erica Krisan/Jelena Krivacevic (8-3) sealed the point for the Jaguar women.
In singles competition, USA dominated taking five of the six matches en route to the victory. Solarova and Michaela Babicova each picked up their 10th singles wins of the spring with straight set victories. Also picking wins for South Alabama on Sunday were Krisan, Spangenberg and Krivacevic.
