MOBILE, Ala. ? The South Alabama women’s tennis team remained perfect on the spring Tuesday afternoon with a dominant 7-0 victory over Memphis at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts.

USA (8-0) will next host fellow Sun Belt Conference member Arkansas State on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The match time was originally scheduled for 30 minutes earlier but was moved up so that it can be a simultaneous doubleheader with the men’s team. 

Memphis falls to 5-6 in dual match play with the loss.

South Alabama came out and set the tone early in the doubles portion of the match, sweeping all three matches.  USA’s team of Sylvanie Spangenberg/Adrianna Solarova remained undefeated on the year when the Jag duo picked up an 8-0 victory over Dara Toulch and Lindsey Wiseman (MEM) at No. 1.  Michaela Babicova and Katie Welch then sealed the point with an 8-2 win at No. 2 over the Lady Tigers’ Kristin Chamberlain and Ashley Murdock.  Jelena Krivacevic and Erica Krisan completed the sweep with an 8-4 win at No. 3.

In singles play, the Jaguar women keep things rolling sweeping all six singles matches.  Babicova, Krisan, Spangenberg, Welch and Krivacevic each picked up straight set victories, while Solarova rallied to capture a three set victory of her own at No. 1 over Murdock (2-6, 6-1, 6-3).
