Hattiesburg, Miss.- The Jaguars track teams finish with four first place winners an a few seasonal best marks at the Southern Miss. Invitational.
Senior Nicole Knox out leap the entire field in the women’s high-jump despite of an injury at 1.70 meters giving the women’s team ten points. All-conference pole-vaulter Emily Sawyer finished first with 11-feet 6-inches. Natalie Dixon scored sixteen points for the Lady Jaguars winning the women’s 800 meter run at 2:14.90 and placing third in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.96. Freshman Angela McCord place third in the women’s Javelin with a throw of 38.25 meters .74 meters shy of her best college mark.
On the men’s side of track action Antipah Sugut won the men’s 1500 meter run with a time of 3:56.48 just one second faster than Alabama State runner Robert Gunn at 3:57.29. Sugut also finished third in the men’s 5000 with 15 minutes 12.02 seconds earning the men’s team six points. Timothy Williams gave the Jaguar men six points finishing third in the high-jump at 2.03 meters.
In Fayetteville, Ark. Clarisse Moh finished her indoor season at the2008 NCAA Indoor Championships where she competed in the women’s 800-meter run. Moh ran a 2:13.20 in the preliminaries round with splits of 29.64, 1:02.45 (32.82), 1:36.98 (34.53), and 2:13.20 (36.23).
