MOBILE, Ala. ? The University of South Alabama baseball program will hold its annual Winter Baseball Camp Dec. 22-23 at Stanky Field, head coach Steve Kittrell announced.
Winter Baseball Camp is open to all players ages 8-18. The camp features all four members of the USA baseball coaching staff, along with Dan Jennings ? the Florida Marling Vice President of Player Personnel ? and numerous additional professional scouts.
Each day of the camp runs from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. Campers register as infielders, outfielders, catchers or pitchers so they can be assigned to the correct group for defensive lessons. Morning sessions feature position-specific fundamentals, while afternoon sessions focus on fundamentals of hitting.
All campers should bring their gloves, and catchers should bring catching equipment if they have their own. Campers are encouraged to bring a lunch, but they will be allowed to visit local restaurants if they have their own vehicles.
Registration for Winter Baseball Camp is $125 per camper. Children and grandchildren of USA faculty and staff are eligible for a discounted rate of $110 if registered by Dec. 15.
