The Jaguars men and women’s track team traveled to Gainesville, Fla. to compete in the Tom Jones Memorial Classic, where Clarisse Moh posted a NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the women’s 800-meter run.
Facing nationally-ranked opponents from Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.The senior Clarisse Moh was able to post a provisional qualifying time of 2:06.87. It was one of the best times in the Sun Belt Conference this season.
“I was very excited when I cross the finish line an I look at the digital screen and saw that I ran a 2.06,” said Moh.
Senior Nicole Knox returned to the track after an injury to place eighth in the women’s high jump with a jump of 5-feet, 5-inches (1.65 meters). In the women’s 400-meter relay, the Lady Jaguars finished an impressive sixth running a 3:47.90 just behind Auburn (3:45.81).
The men faced their toughest competition of the season thus far as well, competing against Florida State, Florida, Georgia and Auburn. The Jaguar men were led by junior Tim Williams, who tied for sixth in the college men’s high jump at 6-feet, 6.75-inches (2.00m).
Antipah Sugut ran the mile in 4.22.72, finishing eighth, and he also ran his personal best in the men’s 800 meters at 1.57.80. Newcomer Onesumus Too finished 10th in the men’s 800 meter run at 1.57.31.
