MOBILE, Ala. ? The University of South Alabama faces a must-win three-game Sun Belt Conference series this weekend, as the Jags play host to UALR at Stanky Field. Game times are set for 6 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.

South Alabama is 14-12 on the season and is 2-7 in the Sun Belt. USA has lost four consecutive games and it is coming off of being swept by conference leader Louisiana-Monroe last weekend.

UALR is 11-15 on the season and 1-5 in the conference. Last weekend, UALR took one game from the University of New Orleans. Leading the way for UALR is Brian Asbill. Asbill is leading the club in hitting with an average of .333. Both Matt King and Osvaldo Torres lead the Trojans with four home runs each.

David Doss, Jeff Cunningham and Joel Collins continue to lead the Jags. Doss leads the club in batting average at .396. Cunningham leads the team with 10 home runs. He is also tied for second in the conference and tied for seventh nationally with those 10 jacks. Collins has four home runs this season and has a .322 batting average. He has also been hit by 13 pitches this season.

Friday night, South Alabama will go with California right-hander Dan Goldberg. Goldberg is 3-2 with a 4.66 ERA. UALR will counter with David Klump (2-2, 3.57). Saturday Brandon Sage (2-4, 6.89) is expected to get the ball up against Ashur Tolliver. Tolliver is 3-1 with an ERA of 3.92. In the finale, Joey Doan (1-3, 8.81) is set to take on Joe Campbell (2-3, 7.84).
