MOBILE, Ala. ? The University of South Alabama soccer team survived their second double overtime game of the season against Florida Atlantic 1-1, Friday night. The tie sends USA to 7-5-3 on the year and 2-2-2 in the conference, while Florida Atlantic moved their record to 5-7-1 and 2-4-1 in Sun Belt play.
The Jaguars got on the board early on a Sam Slover free kick in the 11th minute. Slover, curved the ball in the top left corner giving USA a 1-0 lead. The Owls evened the scored at 1-1 on an Alicia Tirelli header in the 16th minute. Both defenses proved strong throughout the second half and overtime resulting in the tie.
South Alabama continues with its four game homestand against Florida International Sunday at Noon.
