TAMPA, Fla. ? University of South Alabama women’s soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to South Florida in the final game of the Dafeldecker Classic. The Jaguars fall to 0-2 on the season while South Florida improves to 2-0.
South Florida opened the game with a goal just a 1:43 into the contest as Lindsay Brauer scored the first of her three goals off a corner kick.
Sophomore Kelsie Langford and freshmen Katie Berry and Jessica Ori shared time in front of the goal for the Jaguars to combine for five saves. Sophomore Carly Williams and junior Shoshana Sevel paced the Jaguars with one shot a piece.
After the tournament was concluded, USA freshman Tiara Smith was named to the Dafeldecker Classic All-Tournament team. Smith played and started in both games at defense for the Jags.
USA will open the home portion of the schedule on Fri., Sept. 1, against Southeastern Louisiana at 7 p.m. at The Cage.
