THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH ALABAMA ATHLETIC TRAINING DEPARTMENT

The Athletic Training Room, located in Jaguar Gymnasium, is a co-ed facility open to all South Alabama intercollegiate student-athletes. The 2,730 square foot sports medicine facility offers a variety of theraputic modalities and treatment rooms for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitiation of athletic injuries. The Stanky Field Baseball Clubhouse and the Mitchell Center are both equipped with athletic training rooms. It is staffed by Certified Athletic Trainers who are licensed by the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers to practice under the supervision of physicians.

Orthopedic surgeon Albert Pearsall, M.D., and Family Practice Michael Linder, M.D. serve the University of South Alabama as team physicians. Through the team physicians, the Athletic Training Room staff can call upon the vast resources of the USA Hospitals and clinics.

USA Sports Medicine is a co-operative effort of the USA Department of Athletics, USA Department of Orthopedics, USA Department of Family Practice, USA Hospitals, and the USA Health, Physical Education and Leisure Studies Department.
