The Cage

The Cage, opened in the fall of 1994, is home of the South Alabama women’s soccer team; the Jaguars won their home opener against West Florida 2-1 on September 10 of that year. Located on the south end of the University of South Alabama campus, The Cage has a seating capacity of 1,200 with additional standing room along the west sideline.

Just to the south of The Cage is the Soccer & Softball Clubhouse.  This building houses the team locker room, equipment room, athletic training room, meeting space, and coaches’ offices.

The Cage Notes:
• Hosted first-round NCAA game in 2015
• Hosted the Sun Belt Tournament six times, most recently in 2014
• The 2014 team won a school-record 11 home matches
• The 1997 team was a perfect 9-0 at home
• The Jags beat No. 1 Florida State 1-0 on September 5, 2016

Directions:
The Cage is located at 6094 Old Shell Road.  From I-65, take exit 5A and go left on Spring Hill Avenue.  Spring Hill Avenue changes to Zeigler Blvd.  At University Blvd, turn left.  Once you reach Old Shell Road, turn right.  You will see The Cage on the right just after you pass the Mitchell Center and Jaguar Field (Softball).
