Kruger went 2-1 over the weekend at the USTA/ITA Southern Regional Championships, and advanced to the consolation quarterfinals.  After a second round loss, Kruger dropped just two games in defeating Takuma Ohashi of Tulane 6-2, 6-0 in the consolation draw, following that up with a 6-3, 2-6, (10-8) victory over Elliot Minivielle of Louisiana-Lafayette.  Kruger and his doubles partner, Hanno Bartsch, split a pair of matches on the weekend, defeating a team from Troy 9-7, before dropping an 8-5 decision to LSU in the second round.
