Johnson set a school game record with 17 total stops against NCAA FBS member Kent State Saturday, six more than the previous mark first set by Justin Dunn against Georgia Military J.C. on Oct. 10, 2009, which was matched by Enrique WIlliams in the Jaguars’ season-opening victory over West Alabama this fall.  The junior also had a hand in a turnover for the second straight week, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Ken Barefield in the third quarter for the only takeaway recorded by the unit in the contest.  His efforts helped the Jaguar defense limit KSU to just three first downs and 83 yards of total offense in the second half (USA outgained the Golden Flashes 374-281 on the day) as they cut a 33-point deficit down to eight with 25 unanswered points in the final 25 minutes.  The 17 stops are tied for the seventh-highest total posted by any defensive player at the NCAA FCS level this season.
