Cheruiyot began her 2018 campaign in strong fashion, winning the women’s 5k of the Challenge of Champions meet. Cheruiyot, who transferred from Auburn, dominated the field as she finished 39 seconds faster than the second-place runner with a time of 19:14.4. Led by Cheruiyot, South Alabama defeated Mobile for the Jaguars’ first win of the season.
