Strydom earned all-conference honors in two events at the 2018 Sun Belt Indoor Championship, running the lead leg to help South win the distance medley relay race while also placing second in the mile run.  In the mile, the sophomore posted the best time of his career — shaving more than six seconds off his previous fastest mark — while finishing less than 1.5 seconds behind the race winner.
