Hopkins helped lead South Alabama to a 4-1 record this past weekend, the best start in the program’s history. She recorded a home run in four out of five of the Jags contests, while recording nine RBI and four runs. In game one, Hopkins launched a two-run homer to help lead the Jags to a 15-0 shutout over Alabama State. In USA’s 4-2 victory over UAB, the Gulf Shores, Ala., native hit a three-run home run to give the Jags a 3-2 lead. In South Alabama’s 10-3 victory over Samford, Hopkins continued her success at the plate going 2-for-5, scoring one and driving in two. Hopkins ended the weekend in a three-way tie for first on USA’s all-time career home runs list.
