Heitling became the first woman in program history to finish the 5,000 meters in less than 17 minutes, posting a time of 16:52.77 that ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference this season. She finished eighth overall — and was seventh among collegians — in her outdoor debut with the fastest time in the event in the league over the weekend.
