Led by the play of Peterson this past week, the Lady Jags recorded a 1-1 record. On Wednesday, Peterson helped lead South Alabama to its first Sun Belt Conference win of the season when the junior guard recorded a game-high 15 points in USA’s victory at Florida Atlantic. Against the Owls, Peterson was 6-of-11 from the field and 2-for-2 at the free-throw line in the win. In the second half, the Ft. Myers, Fla., native posted nine of her 15 points and helped South Alabama expand a three-point game at the half out to as much as 16 points before picking up the 65-53 victory. Against Florida International on Sunday, Peterson led USA with nine points. After struggling from the arc in the first half, Peterson drained a pair of treys that sparked a Lady Jag run and pulled South Alabama to within one.
