Brown went 2-1 at the 2015 San Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala., this weekend, recording a one-hit shutout in her first collegiate start on Friday, an 8-0, five-inning Jaguar victory over Liberty on Friday as well as her first career save versus McNeese State after striking out both batters she face to end the game after entering with the bases loaded. The freshman struck out 11 Houston batters on Sunday as well, and allowed only one earned run on six Cougar hits to keep USA alive before a 3-2, seventh-inning Jaguar comeback victory. Brown finished the weekend with 29 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings, allowing only three runs (two earned) on eight hits while walking five for a 0.86 ERA, and she held opposing batters to a .143 batting average.
