Pienaar turned in three all-conference performances at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships last weekend, finishing tied for the honor of top men’s scorer at the competition with 24 total points. The freshman captured the gold medal and 10 points in the 1,500-meter run on Sunday, clocking in at 3:49.93. In Friday’s 10,000-meter run, Pienaar posted a runner-up finish and eight team points after recording a time of 31:20.79. The Boksburg, South Africa, native capped the weekend with a third-place finish in the 5,000-meter run on Sunday when he crossed the line at 15:08.43 to pick up an additional six points.
