Messer earned all-Sun Belt Tournament honors for the first time in her career after she batted .667 at the 2014 Sun Belt Conference Softball Tournament in Lafayette, La. In three games, going 6-for-9 with three runs scored and two RBI. Her 3-for-3, two RBI showing in a third-round clash with six-seed Louisiana-Monroe led all Jaguars, as did her pair of runs. She matched freshman outfielder Amanda Minahan’s pivotal performance in a fourth-round win over the host-Ragin’ Cajuns, the top seed and eventual champion, with two hits and a run in three at-bats.
