Campbell was selected the Most Outstanding Player of the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Tournament, leading the Jaguars to their first-ever title and NCAA Regional berth by earning the win in all four contests. The sophomore right-hander opened the event with a four-hit shutout of Louisiana-Monroe in a 6-0 victory, striking out six without issuing a walk, also going the distance the next day to lead USA to a 9-1, six-inning win over Florida International. In the championship game, Campbell surrendered just four hits to sixth-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette, finishing the tournament with a 0.32 ERA and 11 strikeouts in 22 innings.
