Borries recorded three personal-best marks en route to scoring 3,444 points in the pentathlon at the Birmingham Invitational Wednesday, moving her into third place on the school's all-time performance list as well as second in the Sun Belt Conference in the event. She won the heptathlon shot put with a toss of 12.21m (40-00.75), which was over two feet further than her closest competitor and good for 675 points, while recording personal bests in the 60-meter hurdles (9.23 seconds, 844 points), long jump (5.30m/17-04.75) and the 800 meters (2:34.36). Borries was the only participant in the pentathlon to record at least 600 points in all five events. She would go on to place fifth in the shot put on a 12.29m (40-04.00) mark Thursday.
