NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference released its 2018-19 league women's basketball schedule, featuring an 18-game slate, Tuesday.

The games will be played as a mirrored schedule with the men on Thursdays and Saturdays, except for two dates with double headers.

The University of South Alabama opens league play on the road after Christmas break with a road trip to Appalachian State (Jan. 3) and Coastal Carolina (Jan. 5), before returning home to take on Arkansas State (Jan. 10) and Little Rock (Jan. 12).
 
The Jags then head back on the road to play Georgia State (Jan. 17) and Georgia Southern (Jan. 19).
 
USA returns home for a three-game homestand against Louisiana (Jan. 24) and ULM (Jan. 26), before concluding the home set with in-state rival Troy (Feb. 2) as part of a double-header with the men.
 
South goes back on the road with a trip to Arkansas to take on Arkansas State (Feb. 7) and Little Rock (Feb. 9). Then the Jags return home to tangle with Georgia State (Feb. 14) and Georgia Southern (Feb. 16)

USA closes out the road portion of its SBC schedule with a three-game road trip with Troy (Feb. 23) as part of a double-header with the men, UTA (Feb. 28) and Texas State (Mar. 2).
 
The Jags close SBC play at home with Coastal Carolina (Mar. 7) and Appalachian for Senior Day (Mar. 9).

The Sun Belt Tournament has a new format for the 2018-19 season. 10 teams will make the tournament with the first round seeing the seventh and eight seeds hosting home games in the opening round with the second round action taking place at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. The fifth and sixth seeds receive a bye to the second round, third and fourth get byes to the quarterfinals and the top-two teams in the league get byes to the semifinals.
