MOBILE, Ala. – After spending three seasons at High Point University, Andre Fox will transfer to the University of South Alabama men's basketball program, it was announced Friday.

Fox, a 6-foot-4 guard, will have to sit out the 2018-19 campaign and will have one season of eligibility remaining.

"Andre has the ability to score on all three levels which makes him a tough guy to defend," USA head coach Richie Riley said. "He is a perfect fit to how we play offensively and defensively. I look forward to the winning attitude and experience he will bring to our team. We are thrilled that he is a Jag."

In three seasons at High Point, Fox scored 1,015 points and shot 42.0 percent from the floor, 37.2 percent from 3-point land, and 78.2 percent from the free-throw line.

As a junior, the Greenbelt, Md. product ranked eighth in the Big South Conference with a 15.7 point-per-game average and was named second team all-conference. He hit 47.5 percent of his shots overall and 42.6 percent from distance.

He scored 20 or more 11 times, including a career-high 27 against UNC Asheville on Jan. 3, after shooting 9 for 17 from the floor and 6 for 9 from 3-point land.

As a sophomore, Fox was 14th in the league with 12.7 points per game, and eighth with a 78.9 free-throw percentage. He set a then-personal best with 23 points on four 3s against Virginia Tech, and matched that four days later against Navy.

At Eleanor Roosevelt High School, he led all Washington, D.C. public school players in 3-pointers with 77 and averaged better than 20 points per contest. In his sophomore campaign, he guided the Raiders to a Maryland 4A state title.
