LEWIS EARNS FIRST SUN BELT WEEKLY HONOR

NEW ORLEANS – University of South Alabama women's basketball's Antoinette Lewis was named the Sun Belt Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week (Feb. 26), as announced by the league office on Monday. This marks the first-time since the 2002-03 season the Jags have earned three SBC Player of the Week honors, Chyna Ellis earned it twice earlier this season.
 
Lewis averaged a double-double in a pair of games against ULM and Louisiana for the Jaguars with 19 points and 11 rebounds per contest. The freshman forward shot 15-of-23 from the field in the two games. She scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a victory over ULM Thursday. On Saturday, Lewis recorded a career-high 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds en route to her second double-double in the narrow loss to Louisiana, with 11 points and 10 rebounds coming in the first-half.
 
The Jaguars return to the court on Thursday as they kick off their final road trip of the regular season at Georgia Southern. Opening tip is scheduled for 4 p.m. (C.T.).
