SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The University of South Alabama men's basketball program is scheduled to take part in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame 2017 Tip-Off Tournament, it was announced Wednesday.

South Alabama is one of eight schools competing in the tournament in November, which is sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

"We are extremely excited to be participating in the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament next season, as it will provide an excellent opportunity for our team to play great competition in an excellent venue," USA head coach Matthew Graves said. "It will also allow our team to experience a completely different part of the country."

The Jaguars will have two road games leading up to the event at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. USA will open the season Nov. 10 at Texas Tech, then travel to Philadelphia, Pa. for a game at LaSalle on Nov. 16.

Starting Nov. 18, the Jags will face Maine in game one of the Springfield Bracket before moving on to the championship or consolation game against either Sacred Heart or Saint Peter's the next day.

General public tickets will go on sale Friday, Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. EDT via all Ticketmaster outlets and the Mohegan Sun Arena box office. Pre-sales for participating schools begin Thursday, June 1. For more information, please visit www.halloffametipoff.com.
