INDIANAPOLIS – University of South Alabama junior
Alexandria Stiteler will be participating in the NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championships, it was announced Wednesday.
The Sun Belt Conference's lone representative, Stiteler received one of 16 automatic berths for the tournament held May 23-28 in Winston-Salem, N.C., hosted by Wake Forest.
Stiteler is selected for the national tournament for the second time in her career (2016). She is part of a select group of five Jaguars to earn a place at the NCAA Tournament, and one of three to go twice.
The Bradenton, Fla. native was voted First Team all-Sun Belt for the third time last month after compiling a 17-3 singles record this spring. The 17 wins at No. 1 are tied for fifth in USA's single-season history and her win percentage is third.
Stiteler is 2-1 against nationally-ranked opponents and is currently ranked No. 114 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
A complete, 64-person bracket will be released at a later date.
